It has now been over eight weeks since Killer Intent was released and it has been incredibly exciting to see it surpass all of our expectations. To see it sitting on the shelves. To see it flying off of them. To anticipate what is still to come with the summer paperback release. And to know what is in the offing internationally. All of it is above and beyond my wildest dreams, and thankfully I am not alone in being amazed by Killer Intent’s performance.

Despite all of this, it still seems like only yesterday that Killer Intent’s readers could be counted on the fingers of one hand. But it’s not yesterday, and – incredible as it still seems as I write this – my debut thriller has now been read by thousands. And so Killer Intent is no longer just ‘my book’. Like all books, it now belongs to everyone who has taken the time to read it. This blog, then, is my attempt to thank at least some of those with whom I now share Killer Intent.

It goes without saying that I cannot thank everyone individually for their incredible support. I can, however, single out some of those readers and reviewers who have been kind enough to write about the book – and I’m excited to share some of the fantastic reviews so far:

“A compelling combination of political drama and lethal action. There are echoes of Michael Dobbs’s House Of Cards but there is more derring-do in Kent’s twisty tale, which has all the makings of a best-seller and the launch of a series based around Dempsey” – Daily Mail

“Killer Intent is an astute, cleverly plotted and scarily plausible conspiracy thriller with plenty of twists leading to a well-judged finale” – Daily Express

“Let’s hear some applause from thriller fans! Yes, a new star has arrived with a humdinger that could keep you up all night. I was hooked from the start. The first chapter drips with cold sweat … packs a storytelling punch, rather like early Jack Higgins” – Peterborough Evening Telegraph

“It is riveting with a good Irish and political plot, plenty of twists and turns, some love interest and well-drawn characters reminiscent of Le Carré’s Smiley novels, and that is praise indeed” – Sarah Broadhurst, LoveReading staff pick of the week

“Killer Intent is not only considered but cleverly layered, unpredictable and best of all really great fun to read… My advice: Put it on your “must have” list for January.” – Liz Loves Books

“This is an absolute knockout debut novel from Tony Kent and with more of Devlin and Dempsey promised, I for one can’t wait.” – Shotsmag

“I cannot recommend this book enough, definitely one to watch for 2018, this will be BIG.” – amwbookreviews

“KILLER INTENT is one of those glorious things – a political conspiracy thriller that grabs the reader from its first short opening chapter and hangs on to them until the very last page. This is an extremely exciting book!” – For winter nights – A bookish blog

“If your taste runs to action thrillers packed with conspiracies and plenty of information, this is the novel to cheer your dark winter days” –BookOxygen

And thanks too to all the readers and reviewers who have posted such wonderful feedback on sites such as Amazon and Goodreads. I could not be more grateful for the support of everyone who has taken the time to read, to rate or to review Killer Intent. And I could not be happier that so many of those who now share what was ‘my book’ have enjoyed it so much. Each review is a pleasure to read so please keep them coming!
